This company also sent me an unsolicited email (but from another domain to prevent theirs from getting flagged, cometvpnlaunch.com), which had no option to unsubscribe.
And last but not least, the CEO also runs another business, IPRoyal, which uses people's devices as proxies which he then sells to his customers who use them for numerous things, some nefarious.
@monsterjeep thanks for your comment, here is our point of view:
1. New users can be new clients. We’re actively asking our users to leave honest feedback, so if a user didn’t have an account on Product Hunt, they created it to leave a review for us.
2. We created a separate domain for marketing purposes, so we make sure our emails don’t end up in the spam or junk folders. We will thoroughly investigate the “no unsubscribe option” issue. That mistake should not have been made.
3. Yes, we have another company, IPRoyal. We see this as a benefit for our clients as both companies can complement each other. IPRoyal will help us develop a high-quality VPN service with more locations supported and a better overall user experience. Their expertise in online security has already been invaluable for CometVPN’s development.
In terms of “nefarious things”, we’d love to hear something a bit more concrete. Our terms of service clearly define what you can and can’t do on our network. Also, “Using people’s devices” is a needlessly negative way to put it. They’re residential proxies and you can get them from every proxy provider in the world. If they’re truly authentic residential proxies, they come from “people’s devices” - there’s no way around that. However, unlike many other proxy providers, IPRoyal sources its residential proxies ETHICALLY - every single user agrees to join our residential proxy network. They know their traffic is shared and can start or stop sharing whenever they want. More importantly, they get compensated for the traffic. So, we don’t “use people’s devices” – people ALLOW US to use their devices. You’d agree that those are two very different things.
Most importantly, the network is monitored 24/7, and each client must undergo a strict verification process before gaining access to IPRoyal’s proxies. This ensures safety and privacy for everyone involved and helps IPRoyal ensure there are no “nefarious things” going on.

The website linked from PH is very obscure, which is not a very good thing. Where are your exit nodes? As in which countries ? If all of them are in countries where the BIG BROTHER is watching you, the service is useless. Lack of this explicit info makes me believe that most, if not all exit nodes are in countries where you are constantly being watched. Also, where is the company HQ?
