Ropes lets you screen every engineering candidate like it's an onsite.
We're excited to launch a new type of coding assessment, powered by AI, that evaluates for what's actually important in a software developer.

Great application of AI. This is one of the most broken processes in tech. Excited to see how this changes my experiences on the interviewer and interviewee side. Want to learn more about the user’s experience!

Looks great Ken! Curious to know more about how this is candidate centric. How does this shape up against the hackerranks of the world?

@adam_liang1 We're putting effort into doing right by candidates (and we're open to all feedback + new ideas)!
A few things we've implemented:
1. Retake option - We all make mistakes, and sometimes interviews don't go as planned. Employers on Ropes
can let candidates redo an assessment, or take the best of two submissions - to take the pressure off the process.
2. Language Support. In Ropes, its easy/automatic to extend support of a problem from one language to many, so candidates can work in their preferred language.
3. Best-in-class environment. Ropes uses VScode and a developer-first IDE so that candidates feel at home when working on the platform.
Open to suggestions on what else we can do to help out potential hires!

Sleek launch! We have a big hiring push in H1 2024, and it takes a lot of manual hours from my team to screen initial candidates. Something automated and AI-powered like Ropes would allow us to increase our top-of-funnel and give all candidates a first shot.
I'm curious how Ropes thinks about bias in the interview process? If done thoughtfully, I could see Ropes being a less-bias, more holistic screen than the traditional screening platforms.

@julieechenn Sounds like a great use case for Ropes! And great question RE bias.
Even if we don't try to, all interviewers carry some bias when evaluating candidates. We all have bad days or have our minds on other priorities.
Ropes evaluates every candidate against the exact same criteria (set by the employer), which creates a standard of consistency impossible with humans. Our platform also reduces bias vs. traditional screening platforms - instead of putting candidates in two buckets (pass / fail), we allow all candidates to differentiate themselves.
Open to ideas on how we can improve here!

Looks fantastic!! Very compelling for both employers and candidates - I look forward to following along.
