Hey everyone, also excited and definitely slightly anxious to make this happen! We're trained to always keep poker faces on but launching something for the first time can be a scary thing, as you might know! Our small team, consisting of 13 amazing human beings spread across 7 different time zones, worked incredibly hard for this day and we're proud to finally ship. Have a look! If you like what you see, your upvote, share, or support in any other form is incredibly appreciated. Let's end meeting fatigue now 🔥 If you have any questions about our team, our values, and our culture overall, I'm happy to answer all of them! Thanks to everyone who made this happen! 🙏

👋 Hi Product Hunt, we're quite nervous, very happy, and insanely proud to launch tl;dv 1.0 for Google Meet on PH today! Quite a milestone for our team, our early users, and all Google Meet lovers 🚀 We're a small, diverse and fully remote maker team from places all around the world, spanning oceans and timezones like Paraguay, Germany, Uganda, or even aaall the way over to Australia 🌍 Like many of you here in the PH community, we're in ❤️ with async-first collaboration. For example, we're heavy Loom users, and find it amazing to unleash emotional & visual collaboration across timezones. But, the reality is, in remote, async-only doesn´t cut it. What we need to double down on instead is an async-first approach for meetings. From insightful user interviews to inspirational project kick-offs, from lively brainstormings to hiring interviews... if facilitated correctly, live meetings fill our async-first remote environments with emotions, color, and life! For those interested, Steven Sinofski (a16z) has written a great article about the value of live meetings, called "Reaching Peak Meeting efficiency". Give it a go! 🤩 However, we always found that it always takes way too much more time to repeat and contextualize every important live meeting insight and takeaway, especially without the context, the emotions, or the visuals... text-based notes simply don´t cut it ⏳ The result is that in most cases, we still (have to) join too many live meetings out of FOMO 👩‍👩‍👦👩‍👩‍👦👩‍👩‍👦 , or at best, skim a 1-hour 30´ recording guessing where the important information is. We have been working hard so that it doesn´t have to be that way anymore! We built tl;dv to help you catch up on meetings in minutes.🎯🎯 The V1 of tl;dv focuses on Google Meet and enables you to: 📽️ video-record your Google Meets with one click 🔠 transcribe the conversation (🇬🇧 🇺🇸 - for now) 📍 link your meeting minutes to your recording & transcript as you type 📨 share your meeting minutes, fully contextualized, in your favorite collaboration tool like Notion, GDocs, Slack, Salesforce, ... We're free of charge until later this year. Up until then, our most precious income is feedback and user love! 🙂 Any comments, questions, or remarks? I´ll be here all day! Come and join our team in celebrating our first PH launch! Rapha

We are using tl;dv in the eco.com crypto community to run governance meetings. These are important meetings for many members, but we all are in different time zones which makes it impossible to please everyone at the time of the meeting. But thanks to you guys, many members have been able to catch up on important stuff and save time by just jumping to the part of the meeting which is relevant to them. On the other side it's also have been a huge time saver, just being able to time tag live during the meetings and not to have to spend hours after the meeting to wrap up important points. The fact that you can have your recording made public another essential feature for us. Here's an example of one of our last meetings: ( 50 min long... but anyone can understand what happens there in less than 5 min thanks to tl;dv magics! ) https://tldv.io/app/meetings/60c... In our cases, as the community is cosmopolite, transcribe is a huge game-changer too. That would be awesome to have an export button for this one, so we can translate it easily for sub-language communities. Do you guys think that would be possible to have such an extra feature ? Keep the good work guys!
Raphael Allstadt
@jeremie_olivier Thank you so much, Jeremie. Eco.com seems so promising!
Allan Bettarel
@jeremie_olivier First, thank you for using, trusting, and supporting tl;dv. It's cool to see our product to be used exactly the problems we are trying to solve! On top of that, I'm super glad you are using it inside the eco.com community that looks so interesting! I don't know it yet really well - but from what I've seen already, I really love this community. Now - regarding your question about exporting transcripts into other languages: it's actually a super cool idea, we love it! First, we are planning to jump on the 2nd iteration of our Transcription service to enable us to support multiple languages. Then, we could work on this feature if it's also requested from other users. You can have a look in here https://tldv.canny.io/feature-re... to to submit and follow your request :)
Boris Tane

Thalita Cantos Lopes
@ruben_calzacorta1 Proud of YOU my friend! Nailing the career shift
Alex Nikityuk
This is amazing guys! Video is awesome and the product is fantastic. How do you guys deal with personal privacy? Before I use recording, do other attendees get some kind of notification that meeting is recorded and they approve it?
Raphael Allstadt
@alexey_nikityuk Alexey, we take GDPR very serious. Indeed, if you add tl;dv from the calendar, all attendees will receive a heads-up prior to the meeting. We highly encourage that. We are also posting a message in the chat to inform every participant that the meeting is recorded, and by whom. we are planning to double-down much more on GDPR and privacy in the future releases. The roadmap is bright :)
Kirill Burkhanov
@alexey_nikityuk Thanks Alexey, aaaand awesome question! 1. All attendees that are mentioned in the google meeting receive email with information that meeting will be recorded, info about tl;dv and features we have. 2. Whenever our bot is joining the meeting it writes a message probably with the same info about recordings, product, etc 3. We have several options to share the video by email or via the link. 4. By default the recording is closed for everyone except attendees from the proper event In addition we deal not only with privacy but security also, we have several layers of encryption for different part of the system
Alex Nikityuk
@kirill_burkhanov Brilliant folks! The product is amazing. Good luck with launch and GTM!
Radscheit
Looks amazing, and indeed quite funny product video.
Carlo Thissen
@mradscheit glad you like it!!
Scott Markovits
Congrats @carlo_thissen & @raphael_allstadt on the launch. I've been a user and big fan of TLDV for 6+ months. I've used it with a couple of teams I've mentored, and have used it extensively for personal consulting work. Any company looking to move to asynchronous communications should check out the tool. It's a great first step before going all-in on async. It's time for synchronous meetings to get async superpowers.
Raphael Allstadt
@carlo_thissen @scottmarkovits thank you so much, Scott! You´re a tremendous asset for the async movement
Carlo Thissen
It‘s amazing to have you with us Scott - thanks for being part of this journey!

Christina Roitzheim
💣 BOOOOOOM! this is so needed! Thank you for creating such a sharp solution to a problem we, well, I guess all know way to well. 🤠 As we're mostly having meetings on zoom, I can't help but wonder if there is a way to link it to zoom meetings?
Raphael Allstadt
@christina_roitzheim soon! :) We´re almost ready for it. Honestly, we used to support Zoom "a bit" in the past, but then we decided to focus on nailing beautiful Google Meet first, before expanding back to Zoom with full force. But we´re working full speed on it :)
Christina Roitzheim
@raphael_allstadt Sounds 100% reasonable and lean ;) verrrryyy excited to introduce tl;dv in our (remote first) company 🙌
