A story about getting paid users from the Chrome Web Store.
At first, I put Resmume on the Chrome Web Store to get a dofollow link for SEO. Since it's the Chrome Web Store, the app needed to be a browser extension, but my Resmume was web-based. So, I had to create an extension for Google Chrome.
I decided it was worth the effort to get a dofollow link from domain google. I made a basic extension to help with resume creation. The extension had a dropdown menu and a contact form that sent users to the Resmume website with their contact info pre-filled.
A few months later, I got an email from the Chrome Web Store about a new review. It was a good review, but I ignored it since it was just one. A few days later, there was another good review. I finally checked the Chrome Web Store dashboard and saw many users were coming from the extension. Unfortunately, I didn't set up a tracker to see these users, but I was sure some of them made purchases based on the reviews.
The lesson I learned is that the Chrome Web Store can be a good place to get users.
