I wanted to help make it easier to #CallYourRep and find contact information for local district offices, so I made a thing: http://callyourrep.co
I was inspired to call my Congressional Representatives by @editoremilye on Twitter, but quickly realized that there wasn't a single collection of every Congress Member's office info. Existing tools also made it difficult to find the right information about who your rep actually is — ZIP code search isn’t accurate enough as many ZIP codes contain multiple Congressional Districts.
This is a data set that should be easily accessible to anyone who’s interested, so you can find a CSV or JSON file with every office of all 525 Members of Congress available to download.
Special thanks to @rypearts for the wonderful illustration.
Lastly, #CallYourRep! Tools can only help so much; we must be willing to reach out and engage. @editoremilye has a bunch of great resources on her timeline for how.
Planned updates:
- Ability to create and share calling scripts
- Reminders/notifications of some sort
Quick update: just added the ability to create and share Call Scripts, so that people can write prompts around specific issues and then share them with family/friends to make it easier to know what to say. Check it out!
