Hey Product Hunters! 👋 Dani here, co-founder and developer at identid.me Today, we are super excited to launch the very first version of identid.me, the platform where you can create your own online portfolio in less than 5 minutes. How? I'll tell you in a moment, but first let me start our story from the beginning: Months ago @design_byaniceto @copybycarmen and I were thinking about creating our own online portfolio. We saw some platforms to create portfolios, but they were not easy to use, the pages ended up being all really similar, and most of them loaded our portfolios quite slowly. 👎 Problem: We noticed that lot of people were struggling with this same problem, and that's when we thought: why don't we create the perfect portfolio-builder ourselves? 🛠 Solution: We wanted people to be able to stand out from the crowd and also to be able to create a portfolio quickly, so the first solution we thought of was to use the work people already had online and easily add it to their portfolios. We have been working on this project to help professionals create their online portfolio and get the job of their dreams, with no need of knowing code. Here are a few things that set identid.me apart from all other portfolio-builders: 🧩 Free, Simple & Easy to use: It’s like building a Lego (in fact, it works with blocks). Just choose the blocks you like the most and add them. 🎨 Design freedom: Different minimalist and beautifully-designed building blocks to start with. Customise the colour and font of your portfolio. 🔮 Templates (coming soon): Minimalist and beautifully-designed templates for different styles of professionals. 🏞️ Free asset gallery: Not sure which photo you should choose? You can use one from our gallery or search on Unsplash for the one that suits you best. 📱 Responsive by default: Every page built with identid.me will look amazing on tablet and mobile too. ⚡️ Integrations: We offer you different integrations so you save your time using what you already have. Unsplash and YouTube integrations are available for now, but we are working so that you can soon integrate others like LinkedIn, Instagram or Behance. ⚙️ Dashboard: Access your personal dashboard and set up your entire portfolio quickly and easily. ⬇ Download block: A download block that we have missed on the other platforms. Offer your website visitors something of interest to them: an ebook, your portfolio in pdf, whatever. 📝 Helpful: Run out of ideas? Don't worry, we'll help you write in the different blocks, just answer the questions that appear in them and flip out with the results. ⚙️ Keep improving: to help you continue improving your portfolio and your work as a professional, each week you'll get new tips in the newsletter and the blog University. Since this is a proof of concept, we are aware that there may appear one or two bugs, that's why we would love to hear your feedback, so we can improve it and get it out of bugs. We have encountered many problems along the way that we have been solving and we still have many more to come, but we are very excited today to finally make the first launch of identid.me.
