Anthropic raises $65B in Series H funding at $965B post-money valuation

by

That's a lot of AGI, with some substantial firepower:

Anthropic has raised $65 billion in Series H funding led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, valuing the company at $965 billion post-money.

From Coatue, who lead the round:

...what’s changed since three months ago (the last round was only three months ago, believe it or not)?

Three things:

  1. We’ve seen the shift from co-pilots that help make us more efficient to agents actually doing long-form work tasks on our behalf. This has meant an explosion in both productivity and ROI for customers.

  2. Anthropic introduced Mythos Preview, a whole new model class that demonstrates a step change in intelligence level as seen in the METR chart below. It not only shows dramatic improvement to coding and long-running agents, it is also defining a new frontier for security.

  3. And finally —> use cases spreading from coding to “everything else.”

After Anthropic just raised $65B at a $965B valuation, Elon is asking for rent😂

Led by heavyweights like Sequoia Capital and Altimeter Capital, the round—which included $15 billion from tech hyperscalers like Amazon.

This raise comes same time with Microsoft cutting Anthropic bill and Uber not renewing the bill. 🤣

Investors are betting Anthropic will scale Claude into a dominant, revenue-generating AI platform—think huge enterprise contracts, API usage, and leadership in "safe" AI that justifies the $965B valuation through explosive growth or exit.

If they miss, expect the biggest fallout in History of the World that will make Tulip mania a tiny shake compared to an earthquake MAGNITUDE 12.6

Bubble will burst if cost to serve is not brought down.

@princeteck the cost will be cheaper, we have more and more (well chinese for most of them) that "reach" the same level as Anthropic Opus and we can start to run them on your own computer

@princeteck  @fberrez1 We already built models running on devices phones or computers, you can check one of them, its 100% free. https://www.speedr.co/#ai-app Currently the main problem is the compute power.
Phones for example are limited to processor power. Kind of similar story for desktop computers. Once chips corporates releases better processors for computers, then cost will go down, parallelly with valuations of anthropic and openai. (M4 / M4 Pro) is a good start but still it is weak. Even bounding 4-5 of them together, the results ( tokens generation - AKA Word generation) is still limited.

Anthropic at $965B is wild. The shift from co-pilot to agent doing actual long-form work is exactly what most people are sleeping on. Everyone's still thinking "AI helps me write faster" when the real play is AI completing entire workflows while you focus on higher value decisions.

Built ClipScript around that idea - agents that actually process and extract value from content, not just assist with it. Launching Sunday if anyone wants to check it out.

long-form and output based agents are the real value. purpose built or AGI. no middle ground IMHO.

Building on Claude for PeakAI (B2B contact data for India) and the jump in capability over the last 12 months has been genuinely wild. When we started, Claude was good at reasoning. Now it's the backbone of our entire data verification pipeline.

The $965B valuation feels large until you map it against the addressable market: every enterprise workflow that touches knowledge work is up for grabs. The shift from co-pilot to agent isn't just a product evolution — it's a complete repricing of what software is worth.

For builders: this raise means Anthropic has even more runway to keep shipping. The model roadmap is going to stay aggressive. Now is a genuinely good time to build on it.

Quite an interesting news but my personal take on it is we are still far away from AGI specially when it comes to percision based tasks

$65 Billion is wild, wonder whats the level of ROI they are expecting when they investing billions at an already Trillion $$ valuation.

numbers are .... just not easy for the mind to comprehend!! no wondering we got $250 bill coming up... phew. it is like they are seeing in the future!

"We’ve seen the shift from co-pilots that help make us more efficient to agents actually doing long-form work tasks on our behalf." -> exactly my work routine lol

I just use agents as they were my juniors
