Netfox 0.5.0 just shipped, and it's the release that makes the menu bar the place to watch your network plus the port scanner finally checks the ports you care about.
Live traffic, one click away. The menu bar popover now charts your Mac's download and upload over the last minute a filled curve for down, a line for up, live readouts next to them. It samples for the whole life of the app, so the chart opens already full of history. No setup, no special permissions.
Hey everyone Small but satisfying one today. After 0.4 brought the menu bar popover + Sponsor links, a few of you noticed the in-app "What's New" panel wasn't behaving it either didn't show up after updating, or it showed the previous version's notes. That's fixed.
While I was in there I also changed how it works: the What's New panel now appears after every update, patches included not only the big feature releases. [ ] Dismiss it and you can always pull it back up from Help What's New.
Shipped Netfox 0.3.4 a focused polish release, and the in-app What's New panel is reachable again. What's better:
Wi-Fi "Grant Access" now takes you straight to the Location settings, and the window comes to the front instead of opening behind the app, so granting access works in one go.
Security devices you haven't scanned yet show a proper shield in their risk badge (no more missing icon).
A native macOS network monitor. Combines Bonjour, ARP, SSDP, NetBIOS and active probing to show every connected device β Apple gadgets, smart TVs, IoT, printers β in one live window.
Full per-device history: first seen, last seen, every online/offline transition. Five alert types for new, risky, or returning devices. One-click security scan checks common ports with plain-English findings.
