Hey Product Hunters (and thanks @__tosh for hunting), In building out any idea, big cloud providers burden developers with numerous barriers (config, cost, ops) that are unrelated to coding an actual app or api. We think this is bad, because creative developers can't realize many of their ideas, and consequently users can't benefit from using them. šŸ†“ ā˜ļø Deta is FREE cloud infrastructure built for the creative developer to build and experiment. We try to reduce the process of getting a 'working cloud idea' to 'just code'. Deta Cloud has 3 core products: - šŸ’» Deta Micros: FREE zero config Python & Node.js hosting - šŸ›¢ļø Deta Base: FREE No-SQL serverless data storage with a Web UI (new) - šŸ—„ļø Deta Drive (new): 10GB of FREE and dead simple cloud storage These products are backed by numerous features (yes, also all FREE): - šŸŒ Deta Edge (new): 6 global regions for Micros - šŸŽ Custom domains (new): Run your code behind your own domain - šŸ•¶ļø Deta VISOR: real time debugging for Micros - āŒ› Deta Cron: Schedule compute on Micros - And a lot more, see our docs: https://docs.deta.sh/docs/home/ šŸ„šŸ„šŸ„ Last but not least, with Deta Cloud 1.0, we are unveiling the next piece of the puzzle: the Deta Space for Developers program. With Deta Space, developers can scale their ideas with *0 ops* on the back of a new approach to cloud computing (the 'personal cloud'). Some incredible developers' apps are already live Space (more coming soon): - šŸ“¦ WebCrate: https://www.producthunt.com/post... - āœ‰ļø microletter: https://www.producthunt.com/post... - šŸ• Berwora: https://www.producthunt.com/post... - āœļø Method Draw: https://deta.space/discovery/met... We'd love to hear what you think, and support your next cloud idea! Thanks for reading, šŸ–– Max & The Deta Team

@__tosh @max_e Is it joke? Too amazing to believe.
Max Eusterbrock
@samandarco no joke, give us a try :)

@__tosh @max_e Hey Max you guys have a cool project here! I'll try it out and share. Do you mind taking a look and sharing my product called Social Rebel?
Amara Fray
@samandarco @max_e How would you support yourself? What's your income stream? Will this suddenly become paid? Or shut down?

Nothing can be easier, performant, and elegant than Deta when it comes to deploy your code live. I frequently use FastAPI to build micro services and when I want to see them live, Deta is the way to go. The only thing that I miss at Deta is the absence of a pricing tier. I would love to see a paid version too that will make the Deta's use fair for commercial projects. Thank you creators. I wish to see this as a trending product here at ProductHunt. Hope all those who like Deta will upvote this product so more and more people will find this gem. Lots of LOVE from Pakistan.
Max Eusterbrock
@rehmat_works, thanks for the kind words! As of now, we don't have any plans for a paid tier for Deta Cloud -- but we want to help developers earn with Deta Space šŸŖ

Can't recommend Deta enough! I got the honor to build WebCrate on Data Space ahead of time and it was a breeze! Space and the whole Deta Cloud was/is so fun to work with and made my life as a dev so much easier :D Congrats on the launch ?makers!
Max Eusterbrock
Thanks @betahuhn! I'm using WebCrate šŸ“¦ regularly šŸ˜

Deta looks promising. I've been looking for a tool to fill this role in my toolbox for ages. A dev shouldn't have to put up with all that devops rocket science just to get a small app up and running, or worrying about being slapped with a huge aws bill. The price of free is unbeatable too. That said, for me personally, Deta isn't quite there yet. It doesn't use one's package.json scripts or accept custom commands. That prevents me from using typescript, and I'm unwilling to settle for the poor experience of raw JS. I also tend to use frameworks, and a lot of them have special file/folder structures. I'll keep an eye on Deta and hopefully that restriction will be lifted eventually.
Max Eusterbrock
Hi @khalibloo , Sorry we aren't quite there for you yet. In the future we want to bring the experience you spoke about to a wider variety of languages and frameworks -- stay tuned šŸ‘€
Noah Manneschmidt
@khalibloo I also am not willing to settle for plain JS but I haven't let that stop me! I have a 100% typescript full stack app running on Deta right here: https://github.com/noahm/contactful Deploying this to your own cloud should be just a couple of commands
Bharadwaj Giridhar
Have been working with deta and have been active in the slack channel. It opens up a endless range of possibilities! I would love to see next js and mongo db support sooner or later. All the best ?makers!
Deta
@goforbg Thanks for being a part of the Deta community, Bharadwaj! šŸ˜Š

Deta is great and I use it for one of my projects. How you guys are planning to make money if the service is completely free?
Max Eusterbrock
Hi @oneor0 , We are planning to earn money with developers when they launch their apps on Deta Space. More info about this is here: https://www.deta.sh/space

I have been using Deta for almost over a year now, and I'm absolutely loving it! Deta makes it super easy to get up and running with your projects that it feels almost unreal. And the fact that it is free is like the cherry on top. https://prompts.deta.dev and https://quarantine-resume.heroku... are some of the apps I have made using Deta Micros and Base, and for both of these projects Deta enabled me to spend time actually building the product not waste time worrying about the infrastructure.
Max Eusterbrock
@fillerink thanks for the support, and keep the projects coming āš’ļø

Been using Deta for a while and I'm blown away by the simplicity of hosting and deploying apps. A very vibrant staff who helps you all the time and a very vibrant community who provides feedback for your projects. Deta has made the time for deployment in under a minute and that is very awesome. Have deployed multiple of my side projects on Deta and its very easy to get going. Kudos to the team on the launchšŸ„³
Max Eusterbrock
@athulcajay thanks for the support šŸ˜ƒ I've loved seeing your projects and blog posts since the early days of Deta!
kartik puri
Though I had a very small use case, with deta I was able to maximize more time on the development. Recently i was working with NFT, where i had minted 52 nfts from python code, as quick logging mechanism i added deta-base, and within few minutes i was able to configure it. While my code was running it got a timeout and I lost track of all the minted nfts, thanks to deta-base I was able to get the remaining IDs and meta ids quickly and I was back in action. I also added one small flask deta-micro for getting quick counts and contract details from the backend Find my project details https://deckoftuxnft.com/ https://opensea.io/collection/de... If it was not deta, I would have wasted more time in setting this infra before starting my actual minting process. With deta i saved almost 1 and half day Cheers to team deta
Max Eusterbrock
@kartikpuri95 glad to see you using Base and Micros šŸ˜ƒ
