Short term I think it's going to exist mainly as an assistant to marketers, writers, engineers, almost all walks of work in at least the tech world. Long term I think it will be more disruptive we will see more jobs gone, but not to the extent people are scaring others about.
It will be regulated before it causes any societal changing levels of unemployment I feel.
@aaronoleary people always make work for themselves! The labor market looks nothing today like it did 150 years ago. It will look different for sure, but it won't go away. This is just an improvement in the way we work. Not that we work. The economy will adjust.

Nothing can replace human soul and human touch. But we will utilize AI to be more productive and more precise. Indeed some tasks can be automized but not the whole judgement especially on tasks the EQ matters.
I don't think AI will replace jobs just yet, because I think there are certain areas of human endeavor that AI can't touch. But I know it will be a good assistant!

I think as other big leaps that has happened in tech, AI will also change the way we work. There will be casualties no doubt around that (have already experiencing in my last company where a lot of copy writers have went through the loss).
This phenomena exist for every big inventions, either you ride the wave or feel leftout.
