Ping - Digital business card

Ping is a simple way to exchange information with people you meet - a digital business card if you will. However this is just the foundations for a personal CRM - a tool that will help you keep on top of and organise your network.

@mat_sherman Thank you Mat! Delighted to hear! Do let us know how you get on!

@carlmartin I've been playing with it for the last 10 minutes. You are a bloody genius. This app is so sexy. And so useful.
Christian Kramp
I just downloaded Ping, I tried it and it's awesome. First of all the UI is very good, sympathic and entices me to use it. The UX is very fine. Not a sensation, but it serves the app very well. There's not too much, not too few. You've found the right balance. The only point to mention is that you may fix a thing when I use the app, get the mail and open the link on my computer, the app seems not to detect. For somebody who's not patient or willing to try may jump off. But it's just a very small topic. I wouldn't be surprised if a company like LinkedIn would try to acquire you.

@c_kramp Thanks for the feedback Christian! And noted on the email front! Hopefully something we can iron out in time :)

Like! Please add GPS tagging to the wishlist. And facial recognition (of course?). What's under the hood?
Carl Martin
@kkdub GPS is definitely on the list for sure! Facial recognition isn't at the moment. We think there is too big a social barrier to snapping faces at the moment, but wouldn't rule it out down the line. Under the hood, we're actually just leveraging an API from a company called Clearbit. Excellent information available via their 'Enrichment API'. cc: @maccaw

@carlmartin yah, methinks you *might* be right about facial rec....

I've been on the testflight for a while - love this product... I never have business cards!
Carl Martin
@joshuauwadiae The original power user! And the star of our onboarding :D Thanks for your time in testing brother!
Wil Benton
Installed and tested (soz @JoshuaUwadiae!) - awesome experience so far. @carlmartin, I saw you on PH on desktop and then searched for you on App Store - but didn't find the app until I searched for "Wurqs". ASO might need tweaking but otherwise all is 👍 so far!
Carl Martin
@fatkidonfire Ah yes - our fault for choosing such a common name, and having a hard to spell company name haha. Definitely will have a tweak! Thanks Wil!
Harry Stebbings
Absolutely love this and such an awesome job from Carl! Exciting future ahead!
Carl Martin
@harrystebbings Thanks Harry! One of the first to get eyes on this product :) Hope you'll give it a proper run! Obvious power user ;)

I've been thinking about this problem for a while. Nice approach! Will give it a try.
Carl Martin
@jaironpz Thank you! Let us know how you get on :)

This is cool. It'd be great to allow users to upload their contacts from various platforms like LI, FB or even Twitter so that having to add them 1 by 1 is omitted. Same for CRMs for a B2C play.
Carl Martin
@nassaraf Thanks for commenting Naomi! For now we want to supplement not replace other experiences, and to focus on just new connections - which we feel like is poorly served right now. Will definitely keep your ideas front of mind as we move forward :)
David Milberg
Wow this is an awesome idea.
Carl Martin
@davidmilbergnyc Thanks David! We hope you find it useful :)
Donna Kennett
Like the simplicity of this but the purple is a bit tough on my eyes...
Carl Martin
@donnamkennett Thanks Donna! Sorry about your eyes though :( Will maybe explore a colour switch option if we get enough demand!
