Hi ProductHunt ๐Ÿ‘‹, I'm Dave, and I'm thrilled to introduce the world to Hi.Events, an open-source event management and ticket-selling platform. I created Hi.Events because there are very few modern, open-source ticketing platforms, and many SaaS ticketing applications charge outrageous fees. My goal is to offer a more affordable and flexible solution for event organizers through an open-source platform. Whether you're hosting a conference or a yoga class, Hi.Events has all the features you need to run a successful and stress-free event. Some of the features include:
  • Embeddable Ticket Widgets: Use our "Widget Designer" tool to create embeddable widgets that perfectly match your brand. ๐ŸŽจ
  • Beautiful Event Homepages: Create captivating event pages with a variety of customization options to showcase your event in the best light. โœจ
  • Intuitive Check-In Tools: Streamline the check-in process to ensure quick and efficient entry for attendees. No need to download a separate check-in app; we've created a mobile and web check-in tool. ๐Ÿ“ฑ
  • Event Messaging Tools: Keep your attendees informed and engaged by sending updates, announcements, and reminders, all within Hi.Events. ๐Ÿ“ฃ
  • Custom Order Forms: Tailor the registration process to suit your event needs. From dietary preferences to T-shirt sizes, you can ask your attendees anything during checkout. ๐Ÿ“
  • Multiple Ticket Types: Offer a variety of ticket options, including donations, free tickets, and tiered pricing. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ
  • Event Analytics: Gain valuable insights into your event's performance, track ticket sales, and more. ๐Ÿ“Š
  • Versatile Promo Codes: Boost ticket sales with discounts, presale access, and hidden tickets. ๐Ÿ’ธ

And there's so much more! From Stripe integration and instant payouts to role-based access and offline event tools, Hi.Events is designed to make your event management experience as smooth as possible. ๐Ÿ’†โ€

We will also be introducing a cloud-based version in the very near future. โ˜๏ธ

You can check out the GitHub here: https://github.com/HiEventsDev/hi.events (A star would be much appreciated โญ๏ธ). And our website is https://hi.events

I'm more than happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for taking the time to look ๐Ÿ˜„

Edit: Also, we'd love if you could follow our journey on X. Thank you!

Hi Dave, the embeddable ticket widgets seem pretty versatile. Could you explain more about the customization options available for these widgets?
Dave Earley
@memphys_sk Sure! Currently, we support changing everything from the button text to the background color and language. We provide HTML you can easily copy and paste into your HTML or React website. In the future, we'll have even more customization options related to layout, etc.

Hi Dave, Hi.Events sounds like a fantastic alternative to the big names in event management! Iโ€™m especially interested in the embeddable ticket widgets and the versatile promo codes. Can you share a bit more about how the analytics feature works and what kind of insights it provides? Also, any plans to integrate with other payment platforms besides Stripe in the future? Congrats on the launch!
Kyrylo Silin
Also, do you have an X? I would love to support your launch there!
Dave Earley
Thanks! @kyrylosilin appreciate you checking it out! For analytics, we provide real-time information about total sales, total tax, total service fees, unique visitor count, and total homepage views. And yes! We do plan to integrate with other payment platforms in the future. We know Stripe isn't supported everywhere, so we're currently looking at payment options that would allow us to support more countries.
Dave Earley
@kyrylosilin Whoops! forgot to link it ๐Ÿ˜ It's https://x.com/HiEventsTickets. We'd love if you'd follow us

What's the motivation behind making it open-source?
Dave Earley
@sentry_co I've worked on events in the past, and there was no modern open-source ticketing platform, so I decided to build one. I'm hoping making it open-source gives smaller organizers an opportunity to sell tickets without having to pay crazy fees.
Andrรฉ J
@dave_earley1 Competition is always nice! Hopefully someone will do what you're doing for ticketing for hotels and flight tickets as well. This area could use some disruption as well ๐Ÿ˜ธ

I think adding a mobile app could significantly improve user accessibility and convenience.
Dave Earley
@audrey_jake1 We'll definitely consider adding native apps if there's a demand.
