On Deck has helped hundreds of co-founders find each other and start exciting companies. Now, we want to extend the magic of serendipity to everyone.
Check out our "Cofounder Search" platform to get matched with founders in the On Deck network who are looking for cofounders and founding team members.
The talent pool is curated by On Deck and consists of founders within ODF, the On Deck Community, and vetted external founders.
Can't wait for you to try. Let us know if you have any questions/comments below.
@thisiskp_ KP - appreciate the hunt! We're so excited to be supporting cofounder searchers beyond the On Deck community with this platform. There's been so much learned from our community with regards to "what works" versus not in the earliest stages of starting a company, and our goal is to help spread that engineered serendipity more widely.
If you have any feedback on our platform or ideas for how we can make it better while keeping it curated and high-signal, don't hesitate to let me know!
@erik_torenberg1 amazing tool! I am right now looking for a co-founder (there's only so much you can do alone!) and I was super excited to see this! Thanks for making it happen! And let's connect again soon!

The solution looks great. I wish I could have own ideas to find a co-founder for :)

@dmitry_shpak What about potentially joining forces with another project?
Report
@chance_taken Perhaps one day, but not at the moment. But yeah, this solution allows for finding projects as well :)

No has yet cracked co-founder matching at scale. Can speak to the need among deep tech founders: this is a recurring need.
The founder liquidity at On Deck (in the 1000s) gives it an unfair advantage.

@ashwinl "No has yet cracked co-founder matching at scale" - definitely a tough problem to solve for.
@ashwinl so true, Ashwin. We're lucky to have played a small role in the journeys of many founders (https://beondeck.com/outcomes) and hope to do so for many, many more. Productizing venture and entrepreneurship has become a bit of a catchphrase for us ;) lots more to come!
Especially excited about the potential for the tool to help founders in specific sectors / spaces (e.g. deep tech) express their preferences and connect in a high-liquidity forum.
So excited to see the amazing team at OnDeck helping founders find founders as we all know how difficult building a startup (any company) alone is and empowering the whole community to become better and more connected as an ecosystem.
Keep up the great work everybody 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@denislav_jeliazkov appreciate the kind words! Our hopes are to reduce some of that loneliness for people thinking about taking the leap.
Especially since one of the biggest limiting factors for cofounders is _timing_, we think having a curated group of people who are all actively searching is crucial - our goal is to go from sharing preferences → collaborating with potential cofounders in less than two weeks ✅
@richardpoelderl Appreciate the support, Richard! As part of the signup process, we ask cofounders if they have a preference for cofounders in the same area as them, whether they're agnostic (#remotefirst) or if they don't care. The more wide open someone's preferences, the more likely they are to receive more matches.
The matches and suggestions we make are in accordance with the constraints users give us - it's really a design-your-own experience!

@richardpoelderl I'm curious how many people will be open to remote vs looking in their specific geo. 🤔
@chance_taken there’s also remote scoped to geos. Basically remote work but enable quarterly meetups from the get go. Eg for me this would be EU +-2h flight time. Basically the former Roman Empire if you will. I guess they knew what they were doing. 😅
@rishi_tripathy thanks! Although agnostic & don’t care sound like the same thing. I assume agnostic = #remotefirst = no HQ
I’m wondering if same area means I’m also able to find people outside (but close to) EU, if that’s my location

Wowww, this is great! Excited to see all the huge problems that'll be solved by these people finding and working with each other!
@jacksonondeck 😂 sounds like a feature request!
Though more seriously, experiments with features like that are likely worth exploring. Or rather, looking at the best practices that have bubbled up from the larger matchmaking / discovery platforms (which dating apps are one of the best examples of) and thinking about if any make sense for a cofounder context.
It's wild how many times I've heard people cofounder searching compare it to actual dating or marriage.
